According to the Press Service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on 21 August, President Solombe Zenbekov of the Kyrgyz Republic learned about the reconstruction of the irrigation canal in The village of Kazibek, the most remote part of The Atbashi district, during his work tour in Narun on 20 August.

Kokumbek Tashtanaliyev, head of the National Water Management Agency, reported that the Bash-Koljebek and Ktate canals currently contain 1.5 cubic metres of water and cannot meet the irrigation needs of more than 23,000 hectares of land.

With the full implementation of the project in 2021, the amount of water in these channels will increase by 2 cubic meters and will provide sufficient irrigation water for more than 23,000 hectares of irrigated land.

To address this problem, these canals are being rebuilt within the framework of a World Bank project at a total cost of 57 million soms.

Kokumbek Tashtanaliyev also talked about plans to rebuild other irrigation canals in the region, which will guarantee an additional 1,000 hectares of land supply.

To date, the feasibility study of the project is under way and is expected to be implemented by 2026 as part of the third phase of kyrgyzstan's irrigation development plan.

In conversations with the President, local residents also talked about drinking water, kindergartens, the condition of internal roads and the need to rotate school leaders.

Diesel Generators for temporary power provides constant, reliable and cost-effective solutions during scheduled power shutdowns, new or expanded facilities, power for planned and unplanned events such as natural disasters and contingency planning, remote sites and seasonal peak load requirements.

The market is largely dominated by diesel generators, the report said. However, with the tightening of regulations on emission standards, more focus is being given to alternative fuel and non-diesel generators. Factors driving the growth of the market include: Increasing demand of power, aging infrastructure, need of constant power, demand coming from the oil-and-gas market, recovering economy and infrastructure projects.

Some market restrain includes a rise in environmental concerns, stringent environmental regulations, increasing cost of the rental unit, limited product differentiation and increasing competition.

The report provides an overview of the rental power generator market in Kyrgyzstan and has focused on portable diesel fuel generators, natural gas generators and other gensets ranging from smaller towable 5 kW to large containerized 2 MW units.
